Linux Debugging |
Apr 27, 2004 19:29 |
Since many people are reporting "segmentation faults" or crashes on a Linux HLDS installation with AMX Mod X, I would like to post a quick note on how we can help you resolve this.
Since many people are dumping useless debug.log outputs into the SF Tracker, I suggest you read the important post about how you can _really_ help us debug, as saying "It crashes!!1111one" does not give us much insight (even if you provide a debug.log - HL logs are useless too as they are kind of buffered and the last line is not always what happened).
You can view the post here:

New Design |
Apr 24, 2004 13:41 |
I updated the design of the website! Now it is darker and blue. :)
Thanks to decemberx for the colors!
I also updated the content:
- News page: Now it's easier to view older news.
- Credits page: Added more people.
The IP of the American CS-Server has changed and soon there will be a European server too. |

State of the AMX Mod X |
Apr 22, 2004 22:33 |
From now on, I'd like to keep track of bugs efficiently so we can fix them as possible. If you have a real bug report, please use the SourceForge Bug Tracker:
Click here for Bug Tracker. This will help us figure out what needs to be done very efficiently, and it will stop people from posting random bugs multiple times in the forums where developers will forget.
Feel free to use SourceForge's Feature Request system as well. This should be for core AMX Mod X features, not plugin requests!
Since we had a release-often, release-early policy, people are beginning to wonder, "Where is teh AMX Mod X 0.20?". AMX Mod X 0.20 is essentially split into these phases:- Bug Fixes
- New Module API
- Module conversion
- Documentation
- New modules
- Beta-testing
- Package, release
The new Module API (the brainchild of PM) is nearly complete. It took a _long_ time to do, as it is very comprehensive. The module conversion comes next, and well, you can read the rest of that. The new version should be out in 2-3 weeks, although that is not a promise, that is an estimate (stuff happens).
Thanks for sticking with us. |

Documentation Team |
Apr 17, 2004 14:38 |
The door is now open for an Official AMX Mod X Documentation Team.
We are making this team so we can refine the AMX Mod X documentation to be easy to follow, readable, and informative.
There will be two types of Documentation team members: Translator, Author. Doc Team authors write the original version in English, and Translators will be translating it into other native languages.
Requirements:
- You know how AMXx works and know how to install it, set it up, and maintain it.
- You can speak and write English well (this is very important!)
This team will be smaller than the testing team as it doesn't require a lot of maintenance. The Doc Team will also have admin access to the FuncWiki we're making - an interactive function reference manual that will be online.
To apply, write a pm to BAILOPAN. Do not reply to this thread with an application. Please include your name, age (if you want), experience, availability, familiarity with CVS (not required), and whether you want to be a Translator or Author. |
